Dr. Lugo is a Full Professor at the Department of Psychology, University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez campus. His work centers around promoting community participation, in particular, child and youth participation, through the use of Participatory Action Research. He has led research projects and policy initiatives directed at reducing child poverty and inequality in Puerto Rico. He has also participated in transdisciplinary community projects to promote energy justice in Puerto Rico.
